Board of Directors

Christopher Shade
President & Treasurer
Since 2010, Chris Shade of Hastings, NE, has operated a dealership which has a focus on preservation, restoration and sales of Chevrolet Corvairs. With hundreds of Corvairs delivered in the US and abroad, he has witnessed the rising popularity of this unique and different line of air-cooled vehicles.
Almost an exclusively online business, Chris gets multiple calls and drop in visits every week from people locally and from across the country wanting to see the Corvairs in his collection and on the showroom floor. The Corvair Museum of America is a natural extension of the almost daily comments from visitors, “This is a museum!”
Chris and Stephanie have eight children and have been residents of Hastings since 1998. Chris is former music teacher, active in his church serving on the Elder board, and community serving on the school board and other homeschool entities. Chris is also a lifelong Corvair enthusiast, having owned his own Corvair at age 14.
